Shoreland Owners Workshop

July 24 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Join us in person or remotely (by Zoom) for a free workshop geared to lakefront and riverfront property owners in Oneida County, as well as members of lake associations or other interested organizations. (Residents from other counties are also welcome to attend.)

The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, July 24 at 10 am at the Newbold Town Hall on Highway 47.

It is being held in partnership with the Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department and Oneida County Lakes & Rivers Association. Topics include best practices that you can implement as a shoreland property owner and services available to protect shoreland.

Topics and presenters include:

  • Using shoreland best practices to improve water quality, increase property values, and increase the biodiversity of your shoreline, including bee lawns, pollinator habitat, cost share grant opportunities, and more!    Michele Sadauskas, County Conservationist and Baerbel Ehrig, Lakeshore Restoration Specialist both from Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department.
  • Permanent shoreland and upland conservation options for private landowners including the basics of conservation easements. John Heusinkveld, Conservation Outreach Specialist, Northwoods Land Trust.
  • Programs and resources for new shoreland property owners and lake associations. Ted Rulseh, President, Oneida County Lakes & Rivers Association.

A free lunch and beverages will be served for in person attendees.
