“A Watershed Moment: Keeping High Quality Waters High Quality”
FROM: Oneida County Land and Water Conservation Department
Oneida county hosts the #1 (Little Rice River Watershed) and #3 (Headwaters-Willow River
Watershed) healthiest watersheds in the State. In fact, of the 42 watersheds located in Oneida County,
19 are among the healthiest in Wisconsin. However, many of these top-ranked watersheds are highly
vulnerable. High quality water is a valuable resource and merits efforts to protect it. In 2023, Oneida
County Land and Water (OCLW) was awarded a grant from the Wisconsin DNR for a “High Quality
Waters Protection Project”. This project promotes awareness and highlights efforts to protect our
healthiest watersheds.
To learn more about the wonderful waters of Oneida County and our efforts to protect them,
you are invited to an online workshop, “A Watershed Moment: Keeping High Quality Waters High
Quality”, via Zoom on Wednesday February 26, 1:30-2:30 and will include ample time for questions from
workshop participants. Registration is required to attend this workshop. To register, contact the Oneida
County Land and Water Conservation office at 715-369-7835 or sign up here:
