6-County Lakes Meeting: “Who ya gonna call?”
Laws and enforcement will be the focal point of the annual 6-County Northwoods Lakes Meeting on Friday, July 14, at Nicolet College. Please mark your calendar today! The meeting theme is “Who ya gonna call?” and the highlight will be a panel of experts involved with enforcing laws and regulations around boating and safety, zoning, short-term property rentals, and general outdoors-related activity. The agenda will also include:
- Update on state government policies affecting water resources
- Lead poisoning from fishing tackle as a threat to our loons
- Report on spiny water flea and zebra mussels, including potential spread from lake to lake in wakeboat ballast and watercraft generally.
The event (8:30 a.m. to noon) also includes exhibits from water-related government agencies, nonprofits and vendors, plus the chance to network with lake leaders and enthusiasts from Oneida, Vilas, Iron, Forest, Lincoln and Langlade counties.
